I first heard about TLF through my friend, and fellow TLF alumni, Shiselle while at the University of Florida. I applied to TLF because I believe in TLF’s mission and the commitment of their Board of Directors to empowering, uplifting, and mentoring rising communication professionals of color. With this scholarship, I am now able to build a network of professionals who are invested in my personal and professional growth.
Once I earn my degree, I hope to use it to empower clients to own their digital experiences from start to finish to help improve lives. I intend to invest time in paying it forward to others like me by staying involved with TLF because I believe being the only is lonely; bringing diversity into my field of work is essential to building empathetic, consumer-centric experiences that authentically represent and empower communities of color.
Thank you to everyone on the TLF Board of Directors and to all donors to the foundation for your continuous commitment to increasing the number of ethnic minorities in the field of communications and for making this opportunity possible for me.
