Welcome to The LAGRANT Foundation Blog

TLF 2020 Undergraduate Scholarship Recipient Jasmine Lubin
My name is Jasmine Lubin, and I am a rising senior at the University of Florida pursuing my degree in public relations with a minor in event management.

I decided to get my degree in public relations because I wanted more opportunities in the communications field. Through classes and internships, I have realized the importance of public relations and communications which has led me to become passionate about my field and the change it can bring.

I don’t remember how I discovered The LAGRANT Foundation scholarship, but I’m grateful I did. When I learned about LAGRANT’s mission to increase the number of ethnic minorities in the public relations, advertising and marketing fields, I knew I wanted to be a part of an organization that sees our potential. I believe in TLF’s mission because I believe minorities can make a big difference in their communities and around the world and inspire others to do the same. I want to stay involved with TLF because of its passion to help minorities succeed. Bringing diversity into this field of work is important because we need to be inclusive in key messaging to internal and external audiences and use communication to uplift diverse voices and backgrounds.

With this scholarship, I am now able to put the amount towards my academic costs and have  active participation in promoting diversity and inclusion. After I graduate, I hope to work in corporate public relations in the hospitality, entertainment or fashion industry.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in me, given me opportunities in my field and mentored me. I would like to thank my parents and family who have always encouraged me and pushed me to be my best self. Lastly, I would like to thank TLF for choosing me as a recipient for this scholarship.
