I first heard about TLF through a campus organization called Business Fellows. The coordinator found the application online and forwarded it to me. I wanted to apply to the scholarship because it sounded like a wonderful collective of world changers. TLF values development in areas that may not be comfortable. I love this mission because it forces me to become a better student and leader. With this scholarship, I am now able to offset the cost of my room and board on campus. This financial alleviation allows me to focus my spending on camera gear, which will ultimately lead me to development in my craft.
Once I earn my degree, I hope to feel confident in my abilities. Upon graduation, I want to have learned marketable skills that will propel me into my professional career. I believe that this sense of confidence will be a key factor in my future job search. Furthermore, promoting a diverse workplace can help lead to better ideas and tactics, and I want to be an example of that trend.
Beyond receiving the scholarship, I want to continue to stay involved with TLF because you never know where personal connections will take you. I have already used TLF as a resource for my own personal internship search, and I believe it will go a long way. I think the work TLF is doing is important because our world is changing. Minority groups are growing and becoming a larger segment of the mass population. This means that it’s to stay up to date on trends so that we are effectively marketing to new clients.
